MCE and Team Touches Base in Ahwerase as Part of His Community Engagement

Ahwerase Community Engagement On the bright morning of 7th August 2025, Ahwerase came alive with anticipation. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Paul Osae, accompanied by several Heads of Department, paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Chief of Ahwerase. This was more than just a formal introduction—it was a moment to connect, share visions, and listen to the voices of the community.

The gathering began with warm greetings, after which Osiahene Nana Owusu Anarkwa spoke candidly about the town’s pressing challenges. He highlighted the urgent need for proper toilet facilities, better waste management at the Zoomlion dumping site, adequate streetlights, and a more organized community layout with correct street naming. Safety was also high on the agenda, with calls for a speed ramp on the highway to reduce accidents, alongside support to complete the community football pitch under the Ghana Safety Net Development Project.

The Chief of Ahweraseman, Nana Opare, praised the MCE for visiting in person and urged him to serve without political bias. He unveiled ambitious plans—installing CCTV cameras, forming night watch committees, securing land for an ultra-modern 24-hour market, and improving infrastructure to bolster security and community growth.

Representatives from the Heads of Department also addressed residents. The Immigration Service educated the public on reporting foreign tenants, the Works Department explained their role in overseeing government projects and building permits, and the Police Service cautioned against land disputes, illegal sand winning, and encouraged forming watchdog committees. The Fire Service and National Ambulance Service shared life-saving tips, from fire prevention to emergency medical response.

When Hon. Paul Osae took the floor, he outlined government initiatives under the Medium-Term Development plan, such as The Big Push, Nkoko Nkitinkiti, No Fee Stress, and Edwumawura. He assured residents that streetlights and a mechanized borehole were on the way, and that the football pitch would be completed in collaboration with the Safety Net Development Project.

He closed with a heartfelt appeal for the community to stand united against drug abuse, reminding all that true development can only flourish in a safe, healthy, and committed environment. That day in Ahwerase was more than a meeting—it was a promise of partnership, progress, and a brighter future.
